Mumbai/Pune, 24th April 2025: Vadgaonsheri MLA Bapusaheb Pathare has formally urged Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik to establish a high-quality forest park on 229 hectares of forest department land in Nirgudi and Wadgaon Shinde villages, located within the Vadgaonsheri constituency. The proposal was presented during a meeting in Mumbai on 23rd April, where Pathare submitted a detailed memorandum highlighting the urgent need for a forest park to benefit the local community and address rapid population growth and rising temperatures.

The discussion centred on utilising land parcels in survey numbers 53, 136, and 163-A of Nirgudi, which are currently under the forest department’s jurisdiction. Pathare emphasised that developing a forest park on this land would provide significant public benefits, promote environmental balance, and serve as a vital green space for residents. He stated that the initiative is essential for maintaining ecological equilibrium and improving the quality of life in the area.

Previously, Pathare had submitted a similar proposal to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who responded positively. Forest Minister Ganesh Naik has also shown support for the project, indicating a favourable outlook for the timely establishment of the forest park. The move is seen as a strategic step towards sustainable urban development and environmental conservation in the region.
