7166 New COVID Cases Reported In Pune District, 12 Deaths Reported
Pune, 28th January 2022: A total of 7166 new Coronavirus disease (COVID19) patients were reported in the Pune district today while 16,792 people were discharged from hospitals. 12 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
According to District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Bhagwan Pawar, there are 75,991 active patients in the district and 2520 of them are admitted to hospitals while 73,471 are in home isolation. Out of 7166 new cases, 3374 were reported in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 2261 in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 228 in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad), 98 in cantonments, and 1205 in rural areas.
Among the 12 deaths, seven were in PMC, three were in PCMC, and two were in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad). Out of 16,792 discharged patients, 8200 were in PMC, 5181 were in PCMC, 578 were in municipal councils, 544 were in cantonments, and 2289 were in rural areas.
