PMC Additional Commissioner Ravindra Binwade informed in a press conference that, “The office recently released the ward wise draft voter list for the Pune Municipal Corporation Elections. Objections and suggestions will be accepted till July 1 on this voter list. Voters should verify their names by checking their ward wise list and if their name is not in the ward, they should register an objection. The final voters list will be announced on July 9 after taking action on the objections and suggestions raised by the voters.”

PMC Chief Election Officer Yashwant Mane was also present during the time.

The draft voter list includes voters from villages outside the municipal limits. There are also a large number of complaints about the inclusion of names in the second ward list. Upon this, Binwade said that the Election Department has invited objections and suggestions only to rectify these errors and to prepare an accurate voter list. Citizens can view the ward wise draft voter list on the website of the Municipal Corporation https://www.pmc.gov.in and also in the local ward office.

Accordingly, voters should register their objections by checking whether their name is in the ward voter list. Voters can register this objection in writing or online at the Municipal Corporation’s Chief Election Office or ward office. Objections can be registered online at the Municipal Corporation’s email  [email protected].

In case of any objection on the voter list, the objection will be forwarded by the Election Office to the concerned Ward Office. A team comprising ward officers, engineers and clerks has been appointed to look into the matter.
