962 New COVID Cases Reported In Pune District; 8169 Vaccine Doses Administered

Pune, 8 August 2021: A total of 962 new Coronavirus disease (COVID19) patients were reported in the Pune district today while 1220 people were discharged from hospitals. 11 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. Today, a total of 8169 doses of the COVID vaccine was administered to people in the district.

According to District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Bhagwan Pawar, there are 8516 active patients in the district and 4716 of them are admitted to hospitals while 3800 are in home isolation. Out of 962 new cases, 220 were reported in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 215 in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 59 in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad), 16 in cantonments, and 452 in rural areas.

 

Among the 11 deaths, five were in PMC, two were in PCMC, one was in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad) and three were in rural areas. Out of 1220 discharged patients, 304 were in PMC, 233 were in PCMC, 72 were in municipal councils, 12 were in cantonments, and 599 were in rural areas.
