New Delhi, 25 December 2021: From the next month i.e. from January 1, 2022, many rules related to your daily life will change.
These rules include rules related to withdrawing money from the bank to depositing, debit and credit cards.
Debit and credit card rules: There will be a change in the mode of payment by debit and credit cards from January 1. In order to make online payment more secure, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has changed the rules related to it. Now while making the online payment, you will have to enter the complete card details including the 16 digit debit or credit card number. That is, now the merchant website or app cannot store your card details during online shopping and digital payment. Also, the information that is already saved will be deleted.
Withdrawing money from ATM will be expensive: From the new year, customers will have to pay more for crossing the free ATM transaction limit. In June, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had allowed banks to increase charges for free monthly withdrawals from ATMs beyond a limit with effect from January 1, 2022. Each bank used to allow certain transactions every month for free in cash and non-cash. But after the free transaction limit from January 1, you will also have to pay some charges. As per RBI guidelines, financial transactions above the free limit will attract Rs 21 plus GST.
Account holders of India Post Payment Bank will have to pay a charge for withdrawing and depositing cash after a limit. This rule will come into effect from January 1, 2022. There are three types of savings accounts that can be opened in India Post Payment Bank. According to India Post Payments Bank, it is free to withdraw cash from Basic Savings Account four times every month. But after this, every withdrawal of customers will be charged at least Rs 25. There will be no charge for depositing money in Basic Savings Account.
