Pune: Application Process Begins for Second Phase of Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme
Pune, 6th March 2025: The application process for the second phase of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme has officially begun. Launched last year to provide internship opportunities and enhance the employability of young individuals across India, the scheme is now open for new applicants. Interested candidates must register on the official website https://pminternship.mca.gov.in before 12th March 2025 to apply.
Following the successful completion of its first phase in October 2024, the scheme has now expanded, with several major companies participating. Leading firms such as HDFC Bank, Eicher, NTPC, Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Bank, PowerGrid, Manappuram Finance Limited, Muthoot Finance, Jubilant Agri and Consumer Products, Indian Oil, and Reliance Industries Limited have joined the initiative. This phase will offer over one lakh internship opportunities to eligible candidates.
Eligibility Criteria:
The scheme is open to individuals meeting the following criteria:
✅ Candidates must be between 21 and 24 years old.
✅ Educational qualifications: 10th, 12th, ITI, diploma, or graduation.
✅ Annual family income must be below ₹8 lakh.
However, the following individuals are not eligible for the scheme:
❌ Candidates with a postgraduate degree.
❌ Those currently pursuing full-time education.
❌ Individuals who have previously benefited from skill training programs such as the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) or the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS).
❌ Candidates already employed.
Internship Details and Financial Assistance:
- Candidates can apply for internships in up to three companies through the online portal.
- Selected candidates will receive a 12-month internship at one of the participating companies.
- Interns will be provided with a stipend of ₹5,000 per month and a lump sum of ₹6,000 upon completion of the internship.
