Pune: Young Woman Dies After Fatal Fall from Rajgad Fort’s Bale Killa
Pune, 6th June 2025: A 21-year-old woman, Komal Satish Shinde from Alandi, died after falling from the Bale Killa, the highest point of Rajgad Fort, on Thursday. The incident occurred while Komal was descending the steep and slippery path with her husband, Satish Shinde, following rainfall that had made the trail hazardous.
According to police, Komal slipped and plunged between 150 and 400 feet into a gorge near the route connecting Sanjivani and Suvela Machi. She suffered serious head and facial injuries and was declared dead on arrival at Velhe Rural Hospital. Her body was later handed over to her family after a postmortem examination.
Authorities from Velhe police station have registered an accidental death report and launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the fall. Rescue operations were carried out by local police, villagers, and disaster management teams, who recovered her body from the difficult terrain.
