Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Tests ElderCare App ‘Jyeshthanubandh’; Over 23,000 Seniors Already Registered
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 23rd July 2025: The newly introduced ‘Jyeshthanubandh’ mobile application, designed to support citizens aged 60 and above, is already making a significant impact. Recently inaugurated by Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the app received a notable endorsement from Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, who conducted a surprise test of its emergency services to assess responsiveness.
Commissioner Choubey placed a simulated request for medicines via the app to evaluate how efficiently the control room could handle the query. After reviewing the response and speaking with the staff, he expressed confidence in the app’s operational setup and response mechanism.
The ‘Jyeshthanubandh’ app offers an array of essential services to registered users, such as:
-Immediate emergency support
-Contact details for nearby hospitals and medical facilities (government and private)
-Help with ordering groceries and medicines
-Assistance with social connectivity and companionship
Equipped with a dedicated police control unit, the app ensures swift attention to any issues reported by senior citizens, with specially trained personnel assigned to handle requests.
Since its rollout, more than 23,000 elderly users have registered on the app—an encouraging figure for a first-of-its-kind digital initiative within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police limits. Authorities say the app bridges the gap between senior citizens and emergency services, fostering better protection and care.
Available for download on the Google Play Store, the app is designed to be user-friendly and integrates seamlessly with police response systems. Its early success has led experts and civic leaders to describe it as a potential model for senior care not just within the Pune region but across Maharashtra.
