Pune, 13th August 2025: After a brief pause in early August, monsoon activity is set to revive across Maharashtra in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain in several parts of the state, including Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha, until August 16.

According to the IMD, Konkan and Goa are likely to witness rain at most places from today until August 16, with isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in some areas. Madhya Maharashtra is expected to receive moderate rainfall at several locations during this period, along with isolated heavy rain and thunderstorm activity. Marathwada could see scattered thunderstorms with lightning, while Vidarbha may experience isolated heavy downpours and thunderstorm activity.

In July, rainfall distribution across the state was uneven — some regions received above-average showers, while others recorded a deficit. The first week of August saw a lull in rainfall, but the IMD now predicts renewed monsoon activity, with heavy rain likely in many districts over the next three to four days.
