Pune: Traffic Diversions in Camp, Peth Areas and Khadki for Eid-e-Milad Processions Today
Pune, 8th September 2025: On the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary (Eid-e-Milad), major traffic diversions have been announced in Camp, central Pune and Khadki on Monday to facilitate processions. Police have appealed to citizens to use alternative routes as vehicular movement will be restricted along the designated routes.
Main Procession in Pune City
The central procession will begin from Manusha Masjid in Nana Peth and pass through several key junctions, including Sant Kabir Chowk, AD Camp Chowk, Bharat Cinema, Padamjee Police Chowki, Nishat Cinema, Chudaman Talim Chowk, Babajan Chowk, Charbawdi Chowk, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Market, Pulgate Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi (MG) Road, Mohammad Rafi Chowk, Kohinoor Chowk, Mahavir Chowk, Quarter Gate, Nana Chawdi Chowk, Alpana Cinema, Hamjekhan Chowk, and Govind Halwai Chowk.
The procession will conclude at City Jama Chowk in Shukrawar Peth after passing Subhanshah Dargah Chowk.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav said that all types of vehicles will be banned from plying on the procession route until the procession concludes. “Once the procession moves forward, back roads will be opened for traffic. We urge citizens to plan their travel accordingly,” he said.
Traffic Changes in Khadki Area
A separate Eid-e-Milad procession will also be taken out in Khadki. It will begin at Asudkhana Chowk and pass through Hole Road, Naveen Talim Chowk, Gopi Chowk, Tanga Stand Chowk, Crown Hotel, Tikaram Chowk, Maharashtra Bank Chowk, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk before concluding at Jama Masjid Chowk in Khadki Bazaar.
Traffic police have advised commuters to avoid these routes during the procession hours and cooperate with on-ground officers to ensure smooth movement.
