Return Monsoon Set to Bring Showers Across Maharashtra Next Week
Pune, 11th September 2025: After a brief lull, the monsoon is expected to return to Maharashtra next week, bringing beneficial rains for farmers and easing the lingering dry spell in parts of the state.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated showers are likely in Konkan, Goa, and Marathwada over the next two days, while light to moderate rain with thunder may occur in some districts of Vidarbha. The recent dip in rainfall intensity provided temporary relief to farmers and citizens after heavy showers in certain areas last week.
Meteorologists have forecast that the return monsoon is expected between September 16 and 18. During this period, rain accompanied by lightning is likely, particularly in Konkan, Vidarbha, and Marathwada, with heavy showers predicted in some locations.
The upcoming rainfall is expected to be critical for farmers, benefiting late-sown Kharif crops as well as standing crops such as soybean, tur, maize, rice, and vegetables. Experts say the rain could give a significant boost to crop growth and agricultural productivity in affected areas.
