Pune, 20th September 2025: Hyundai Motor India Limited has announced a significant expansion of its Talegaon manufacturing project, increasing its investment from Rs 7,000 crore to Rs 11,000 crore. The announcement was made by Hyundai’s Managing Director, Unsoo Kim, following a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on 15 September.

The expanded investment is expected to generate 7,600 direct jobs, with numerous indirect employment opportunities also anticipated, giving a boost to industrial development in the region.

Speaking at a subsequent meeting with the company delegation at Varsha Bhavan, Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “Hyundai is a big name in the automobile industry and has already invested in Maharashtra. Vehicle production will increase from this project in Pune. The company should continue to invest in the automobile sector in the state and enhance employment generation. Hyundai’s contribution of Rs 56 crore under its social responsibility initiatives is commendable, and ongoing projects under this fund will set a benchmark. The role of the state government is to create an industry-friendly environment and support industrial growth.”

Following the Chief Minister’s appeal, Hyundai’s Managing Director confirmed the increased investment, stating it forms part of the company’s long-term strategy. The additional funds will be used for cutting-edge manufacturing technology, a seventh-generation paint shop, automation tools, infrastructure upgrades, and readiness for electric vehicle production.
