Pune: PMPML Launches Special Tourism Bus Service for Goddess Shakti Temples During Navratri
Pune, 20th September 2025: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced a special tourism bus service for devotees wishing to visit prominent Goddess Shakti temples in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Pune district during the upcoming Navratri festival. The initiative aims to provide safe, comfortable, and affordable travel options for pilgrims and tourists.
“This special bus service will not only help devotees seek blessings during Navratri but also boost religious tourism in the region while supporting eco-friendly travel,” said PMPML officials, adding that the initiative was conceptualized under the guidance of Chairman and Managing Director Pankaj Deore.
The service will operate on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and on other days depending on tourist demand. Devotees will travel in fully air-conditioned smart electric buses, designed to offer a pleasant pilgrimage experience. Officials said the service is receiving strong response from passengers, especially office-goers, students, and IT employees who typically have weekly holidays on weekends.
Starting September 23, 2025, PMPML will launch Tourist Bus Service No. 13 (1) and Tourist Bus Service No. 13 (2), offering curated routes covering key temples in and around Pune. Each ticket is priced at Rs 500 per passenger.
Tourist Bus Service No. 13 (1):
Route: Pune Station → Swargate → Taljai Mata Mandir, Taljai → Padmavati Mandir, Padmavati → Tukai Mata Mandir, Kondhanpur → Srinath Mhaskoba Jogeshwari Mata Mandir, Kodit (Purandar) → Yamai Mata Mandir, Shivri (Purandar) → Swargate → Pune Station.
Departure: 8:30 AM (from Pune Station)
Return: 7:00 PM
Fare: Rs 500 per passenger
Tourist Bus Service No. 13 (2):
Route: Pune Station → Swargate → Mahalaxmi Mandir, Sarasbagh → Tambdi Jogeshwari Mandir, Budhwar Peth → Chatushrungi Mata Mandir, Senapati Bapat Road → Vaishnavi Mata Mandir, Pimpri Camp → Bhavani Mata Mandir, Bhavani Peth → Swargate → Pune Station.
Departure: 8:30 AM (from Pune Station)
Return: 7:00 PM
Fare: Rs 500 per passenger
In addition to the new routes, PMPML currently operates 13 tourist bus services. Group discounts are also available: for every booking of 33 seats, tickets for five passengers are offered free of cost. However, this discount does not apply to Tourist Bus Service No. 11 (Swargate–Lonavala).
Passengers can book tickets at designated PMPML pass centers located at Deccan Gymkhana, Pune Station, Swargate, Katraj, Hadapsar Railway Station, Pune Municipal Corporation Bhavan, Bhosari Bus Station, and Nigdi.
