Pune: FSL Report Clears Dr. Pranjal Khewalkar of Drug Consumption in Kharadi Party Case
Kharadi, 2nd October 2025: The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has submitted a report to Pune Police confirming that Dr. Pranjal Khewalkar, son-in-law of Nationalist Congress Party leader Eknath Khadse, did not consume drugs, officials said. Dr. Khewalkar is an accused in the high-profile Kharadi party case.
The Crime Branch had raided a party at a hotel in Kharadi on July 25, resulting in the arrest of Dr. Khewalkar, Nikhil Jethanand Poptani, Sameer Fakir Mahmand Syed, Sachin Somaji Bhombe, Shripad Mohan Yadav, Isha Devjyot Singh, and Prachi Gopal Sharma. Authorities seized 2.07 grams of cocaine, 70 grams of ganja-like substances, a hookah container, ten mobile phones, scented tobacco, two cars, and several bottles of liquor from the venue.
The seized cocaine and cannabis-like substances were sent for forensic examination. Dr. Khewalkar underwent a medical examination, and his blood samples were tested at the forensic medical laboratory. According to the laboratory’s report, he had not consumed any drugs. Sources confirmed that the report has been included in the charge sheet filed in court for the Kharadi party case.
The report provides relief to Dr. Khewalkar. However, police continue to investigate the source of the drugs used at the party. Dr. Khewalkar had been granted bail on September 25.
