Pune, 9th October 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched a strict campaign against illegal flexes, boards, and banners across the city. Following orders from Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram to register direct cases, the Skysign Department intensified action, resulting in 27 direct cases being filed on Wednesday.

Within a single day, 71 complaints were sent to police stations under 15 ward offices, and numerous unauthorized flexes were removed. The surge in flexes is attributed to birthdays, appointments, political greetings, commercial advertisements, and construction promotions. With municipal elections approaching, several aspiring candidates have reportedly put up flexes to promote themselves, affecting the city’s aesthetics.

Commissioner Ram has directed that a fine of Rs 1,000 be imposed for each unauthorized flex or banner. Printing press owners are also required to obtain prior permission from PMC before producing any flexes or boards.

Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B. P. stated that around 2,500 unauthorized flexes and banners have been removed in recent days, and penal and criminal action is underway.

Areas where cases were registered:
Nagar Road – 6
Aundh-Baner – 4
Kothrud-Bavdhan – 2
Warje-Karvenagar – 3
Kondhwa-Yevlewadi – 1
Kasba-Vishrambag – 4
Bibwewadi – 7
The PMC has clarified that Ward Assistant Commissioners will be held responsible if unauthorized flexes appear in their areas. Administrative action will be initiated against them in case of violations.
