Pune, 07 January 2026: Around 20 undergraduate students and three faculty members from Leeds Beckett University’s Carnegie School of Sports have come to India for an eight-day visit from 5th to 12th January 2026 at the ISMS Group of Institutions, Ambegoan, Pune as part of the Student Mobility Program.

This initiative is in its third consecutive year aims to provide visiting students with memorable learning experiences imparting India’s culture, fostering a healthy sports ecosystem and strengthening the academic excellence of the institution.

Ms. Shalini Banerjee, Founder and Executive Director of the ISMS Group of Institutions, spoke about the grand success of the previous year’s visit. She reiterated that this year’s visit will benefit both ISMS Students & the visiting students from Leeds Beckett University. For the LBU students the visit will provide a blend of unique learning experiences about sports and cultural perspectives of a different country. Meanwhile ISMS students will have an opportunity to interact with their UK peers and gain their understanding of international sports perspectives, helping both the students to enhance their skills and broaden their exposure.

Ms. Banerjee added “Sports connects people across borders. They play an integral role in today’s competitive world for improving performance, helping develop leadership, teamwork, community development, competitive and communication skills. These are the key aspects to overall personality development and help students achieve their goals.

In continuation of the success of the program last year, the students were given a grand welcome ceremony on 6th January 2026 , followed by friendly football and cricket matches at Mango Tree, visit to sporting facility PDMBA-Badminton Hall at Shivajinagar, treks and outings to the Sinhagad fort, visit to Snehalaya, a NGO in Ahmednagar and a nostalgic farewell to cherish the memories together.
