Pune, 3rd February 2026: Former students and teachers of Army Public School, Khadki, returned to their alma mater on February 1 as the school hosted its first-ever Annual Alumni Meet & Greet and formally launched the APS Khadki Alumni Association. The landmark event brought together around 250 alumni and faculty members from different batches, marking a major step towards structured alumni engagement and long-term student support.

Held on the school campus, the gathering was both a reunion and a forward-looking initiative. Alumni, teachers, and school administrators reconnected across generations while discussing how the alumni community could contribute meaningfully to the institution’s academic, professional, and co-curricular ecosystem.

Reconnecting Across Generations
For many alumni, returning to APS Khadki brought back memories of morning assemblies, classroom discipline, sports activities, and guidance from teachers who shaped their formative years. Former students, now professionals across diverse fields, interacted freely with their teachers, sharing updates about their personal and professional journeys.

Teachers expressed pride in seeing their students return as confident adults, while alumni acknowledged the role the school played in instilling discipline, resilience, teamwork, and ethical values that continue to guide them in higher education and professional life.

The presence of senior educators and former principals reinforced the sense of continuity between the school’s past and present, highlighting APS Khadki’s long-standing emphasis on holistic development.

Launch of a Structured Alumni Platform
The highlight of the day was the formal announcement of the APS Khadki Alumni Association, an initiative that had been discussed informally for several years. With its launch, the association aims to move beyond occasional reunions and create a structured, sustainable framework connecting alumni with one another and with the school.

According to organisers, the association’s key objectives include:
Strengthening alumni–school relationships

Providing mentorship and career guidance to students

Facilitating internships and job placements

Encouraging professional networking and collaboration

Supporting academic, co-curricular, and student welfare initiatives

To complete legal and administrative formalities, a one-time lifetime registration fee has been introduced. Organisers clarified that the fee is non-commercial in nature and intended solely to ensure transparency, compliance, and long-term sustainability.

Organisation and Support
The event was organised by the Alumni Core Committee, comprising Mubarak Ansari, Sonu Kanyal, Sachin Safale, Bishwajit Dash, Rohit Nagarkoti, Mihir Ved, and Kriti Kalia. Teachers Usha Rai and Prachi Kshirsagar actively supported the organising team and coordinated closely to ensure smooth execution of the programme.

School staff and volunteers managed registrations, logistics, and on-ground arrangements, reflecting months of planning behind the inaugural meet.

Programme Highlights
The programme began with a formal welcome and inaugural ceremony, followed by cultural performances and interactive sessions. Alumni from different batches shared personal anecdotes from their school days, often linking those experiences to their current professional paths.

Several alumni spoke about how the confidence and leadership skills they carry today were nurtured within the APS Khadki campus. Teachers, in turn, noted the importance of maintaining strong alumni connections to inspire and guide current students.

Principal’s Address
Addressing the gathering, Principal Rupan Jaswal emphasised the importance of alumni involvement in shaping the institution’s future.
“The alumni association is not just about reconnecting with the past, but about creating a roadmap for the success of our current students,” she said. She urged alumni to remain actively engaged through mentorship and guidance, highlighting the value of real-world exposure that experienced professionals can bring to students.

Her address underscored the idea that an institution’s legacy continues through its students and their sustained connection with the school.

Reflections from a Former Principal
Former Principal Nirmala Tambe, returning to the campus after 13 years, reflected on the values imparted to students during their school years.
“You were taught to be curious, to keep improving yourselves and raise the bar,” she told the alumni, expressing pride in their achievements and professional journeys. Her remarks resonated strongly with attendees, many of whom credited teachers like her for shaping their outlook on learning and life.

Future Plans and Roadmap
Speaking at the event, Mubarak Ansari, Alumni Core Committee member and APS Khadki alumnus from the 2004 batch, announced that the alumni association will be officially registered by April 2026.

“This platform will help students with guidance, internships and placements, and will also support alumni entrepreneurs through collaboration,” he said, adding that the focus would be on creating practical outcomes rather than symbolic engagement.

He thanked the school management and teachers for encouraging the initiative and acknowledged the support of sponsors Udchalo and The Athletics Nutrition for the inaugural alumni meet.

Vote of Thanks and What Lies Ahead
Vice Principal Poonam Thakur, delivering the vote of thanks, acknowledged the efforts of the alumni core committee, teachers, volunteers, and school staff who worked behind the scenes to make the event a success.

The organisers announced that the next APS Khadki Alumni Meet will be held on December 20, 2026, inviting alumni from all batches to participate and strengthen the growing community.

As the event concluded, alumni lingered on campus, exchanging contacts, revisiting classrooms, and capturing moments that blended nostalgia with purpose. With the formal launch of the alumni association, APS Khadki aims to strengthen collaboration between its past and present members while creating meaningful opportunities for students in the years ahead.
