Hockey 2026: Loyola, St. Patricks score easy wins, Sant Tukaram score biggest win of day
Pune, 18th February 2026: Loyola and St Patrick’s School remained unbeaten teams, while Alegaonkar H.S and Sant Tukaram H.S completed the day with a win and a draw in the Fr. Schoch Memorial 2026 Inter School Hockey tournament, powered by Bharat Forge Kalyani Group, at the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, here on Wednesday.
The tournament is being held under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra and organized by ELAN (Ex Loyola Alumni Network) along with Loyola High School for the sixth year in succession.
The day overall had 24 goals scored in the Boys Under-17 section, with Loyola getting past New Millennium English 1-0 to keep their slate clean. The all-important goal was scored by Vishwaraj Giri (44’) off a penalty-corner.
In the other game, St. Patrick’s School had a field day scoring at ease against Ornellas to complete an easy 5-0 win. A brace by Vedant Waghule (55; 59’) and a goal-each by Aman Qureshi (3’, 6′) and Saurya Menge 57’) helped St. Patricks to the scoreline.
Later, Alegaonkar impressed with a 5-1 verdict over The New Millennium English. The scorers for Alegaonkar were Eshan Pardeshi (25’), Kartik Pillay (25’), Numir Shaikh (40’), Ayan Shah (44’) and Kadar Khan (59’). The lone-goal scored by New Millenium Englsh was Aryan Gawade (2’), who scored the first goal of the game.
In the second match, Alegaonkar drew their second match with Sant Tukaram 0-0.
Meanwhile, Sant Tukaram recorded the biggest win of the day by defeating Lokmanya Tilak 7-0. A triple-goal effort by Prabuddha Tupsakhe (14’, 44, 48’), a brace by Shreyas Shinde (4’; 42’) and a goal by Abhijeet Pawar 18’, 25’) were the highlights of this massive win.
In the last match of the day, Col. Bhagat H.S upset the calculations of Ornellas 5-0. Two goals each by Arbaz Khan (12’, 14’) and Prem Shelke (17’, 47’) and a goal by Arsh Shah (4’) completed the tally.
Meanwhile, Janata H.S, Vishrantwadi failed to show up for their matches against Ornellas and St. Patrick’s School.
