Pune, 22nd February 2026: Nikhil Construction Group, Nyati Engineers and Consultants and Aashi Solutions teams gave a victorious opening in the eighth ‘Raas Karandak’ Championship Cricket Tournament organized by Escon Projects Consultants Pvt. Ltd. Escon Projects team celebrated the opening day by defeating Unity Build Tech team in the superover.
Batting first in this tournament, which started at the Lord of Maval Cricket Ground in Chandkhed, Nikhil Construction Group scored a mountain of 226 runs in 10 overs. Prashant Sutar scored an unbeaten 98 off 24 balls with 7 fours and 10 sixes. On the other hand, Umar Sheikh scored an unbeaten 101 off 29 balls with 8 fours and 10 sixes. The two of them put on a 176-run partnership for the second wicket in 47 balls. Chasing this target, Ras Projects Consultancy were bundled out for 47 runs. On the strength of Rahul Rathod’s unbeaten 73, Nyati Engineers and Consultancy defeated Classic Electric by 11 runs. Thanks to Avinash Gaikwad’s all-round innings, Ashi Solutions opened the innings by defeating Millennium Engineers and Contractors by 17 runs.

In a thrilling match, Escon Projects team defeated Unity Build Tech team in the Super Over. Escon team, playing first, set a target of 112 runs. In this, Raj Vivek Babar scored 85 runs. To achieve this target, Unity team needed 13 runs to win in the last over. Ashish Salunke of Escon caught Karan on the first ball of this last over. Pranav Gole hit two sixes on the second and fourth balls and took Unity team to the threshold of victory. With one run needed to win on the last two balls, Unity batsmen were run out on both balls and the match was tied. Escon team won the Super Over easily and got the winning points.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by former Maharashtra Ranji player Anil Walhekar, tournament director Shaila Hinge and managing director of Ras Project Consultants Anil Hinge.
