Satara, 30th March 2026: Maharashtra Tourism, in collaboration with the district administration of Satara and the Regional Tourism Directorate, Pune, will organise the ‘Koyna Daulat Dongri Festival 2026’ in Patan taluka from April 2 to April 6.

The festival aims to promote tourist destinations in Satara, nestled in the Sahyadri ranges, and position them more prominently on the national and international tourism map. State tourism minister Shambhuraj Desai said the event is expected to boost tourism and strengthen the local economy, while showcasing the region’s cultural heritage, natural beauty and adventure tourism potential.

The five-day festival will feature a series of cultural programmes, beginning with a ‘Shahiri Powada’ on April 2, followed by a ‘Bhajani Mandal’ performance on April 3, a brass band show on April 4 and a ‘Lavani Festival’ on April 5.

Tourists will also get to participate in recreational activities such as boating, horse riding, and paragliding and camel safaris. Key attractions include a carnival, agricultural exhibition, food festival, weapons display, animal and bird shows, and dedicated stalls for women’s self-help groups to showcase and sell their products.

The festival will also focus on wellness and adventure tourism, with activities like yoga, meditation, Ayurvedic therapies, trekking, rock climbing, paramotoring and jet-skiing. Special heritage tours to forts and temples in the Sahyadris will also be organised.

Several artistes from the entertainment industry, including actors and singers, are expected to perform during the event.

Officials said the festival will offer a comprehensive experience of the region’s culture, traditions and tourism potential, while also hosting seminars on women’s empowerment, youth participation and tourism development. A familiarisation tour for travel stakeholders, including tour operators and influencers, will also be conducted.

Principal Secretary (tourism) Sanjay Khandare said such festivals can significantly boost rural, adventure and wellness tourism in the state. Tourism director Dr B N Patil said the event aims to provide visitors with a multi-dimensional experience while strengthening the tourism identity of Satara and Patan.
