Cardiac Surgeon Dr Smruti Hindaria-Pisal Receives IMA Pune Young Achievers Award 2026
Pune, 16 April 2026: Cardiac surgeon Dr Smruti Hindaria-Pisal has been conferred the IMA Pune Young Achievers Award 2026 in recognition of her significant contribution to medical services, particularly in the field of cardiac surgery. The award was presented at a function organized by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Pune branch, at Dr Nitu Mandke IMA House on Tilak Road.
Dr Hindaria-Pisal, regarded as the only female cardiac surgeon in wrstern Maharashtra to perform Minimally invasive cardiac surgery routinely, was honored for her research, academic work and excellence in heart surgeries. The event was attended by IMA Pune president Dr Sunil Ingale, Dr Avinash Bhutkar, Dr Ranjeet Ghatge, Dr Anjali Sabne, along with several medical professionals, dignitaries and family members.
A senior consultant in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, Dr Hindaria-Pisal has performed over 2,000 successful surgeries in the past decade. She is known for using advanced techniques that ensure reduced pain, faster recovery and improved outcomes for patients. Having worked with several leading hospitals in Pune, she continues to contribute to setting new benchmarks in cardiac care. Her work also focuses on raising awareness about women’s heart health and promoting patient-centric treatment approaches.
Expressing her gratitude, Dr Hindaria-Pisal said, “My goal is to make minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgeries accessible to more patients. These procedures significantly reduce pain and recovery time. I also aim to spread greater awareness about heart diseases.” She added that the recognition would further motivate her to expand her efforts in advancing cardiac care and patient awareness.
