Pune Police Recover Lost Mobile in 20 Minutes Using CCTV Tracking in Wadgaon Sheri
Chandan Nagar, 5th May 2026: Prompt action by the Chandan Nagar Police helped a city resident recover her lost mobile phone within minutes, highlighting the effectiveness of quick response and CCTV tracking.
According to police officials, Kajal Mahendra Parihar, a resident of Anand Park in Wadgaon Sheri, misplaced her mobile phone while travelling in an autorickshaw from Anand Park towards Phoenix Mall. She realised the phone was missing only after alighting at the mall.
Parihar immediately approached the Mahatma Phule police chowki for assistance. Acting swiftly, police constables Amol Dhakane (PC 4922) and Rohit Suryawanshi (PC 9699), who were on marshal duty from Chandan Nagar Police Station, gathered details of the incident and began tracing the vehicle.
Using CCTV footage from the route, the police identified the autorickshaw’s registration number and subsequently obtained the driver’s contact details. The driver was contacted and informed about the situation, following which the missing phone was located and returned to Parihar within 20 minutes.
Parihar expressed her appreciation for the prompt and efficient response of the Pune Police, particularly the Chandan Nagar Police team, for their swift assistance in recovering her belongings.
Senior Police Inspector Nilesh Badakh of Chandan Nagar Police Station confirmed the incident and commended the personnel for their timely action.
