Lost Or Damaged Your Aadhaar Card? Receive PVC Card Online for Rs 75; Know UIDAI Process
New Delhi, 11th September 2026: If your Aadhaar card is lost, ton or faded, you can order a durable PVC (polyvinyl chloride) version from home. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) offers the facility on its official portal and mobile app for a fee of ₹75, which includes GST and Speed Post charges.
Aadhaar is currently available in three valid formats—Aadhaar Letter, e-Aadhaar (digitally signed PDF) and PVC card. UIDAI has clarified that all three are equally valid as identity proof and has asked organisations to verify them using the secure QR code rather than insisting on a specific format.
To order, visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in (or the mAadhaar app) and select “Order Aadhaar PVC Card”. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, or 16-digit Virtual ID (VID), or 28-digit Enrolment ID (EID), and complete the captcha. Request an OTP on your registered mobile number; if your number is not registered, you can still proceed by providing any valid mobile to receive the OTP. After OTP verification, preview your Aadhaar details, accept terms and proceed to payment. Pay ₹75 via debit/credit card, net banking or UPI. You will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) to track status.
The PVC card is printed at a UIDAI secure facility and dispatched by India Post Speed Post, typically reaching applicants in 5-15 working days. Those who prefer offline can visit a nearby Aadhaar centre to place the request.
UIDAI warns that PVC cards printed by private vendors are not valid; only cards issued through UIDAI’s official channels should be used.
