Pune, 17 January 2023: As the MahaRERA has issued a new directive for all channel partners or property agents to appear for the exam and obtain a certificate from the Authority to offer their professional services, Ranjit Naiknavare, Vice President of CREDAI-Pune Metro has said that the directive from the governing body is a necessary and welcoming move. The move will enhance knowledge and awareness of the regulatory and legal framework and also enforce code of conduct, he said.

“As the real estate agents are the intermediary between developers and home buyers, it is essential to provide them with training to equip them with the knowledge of the regulatory framework. Sometimes, the channel partners and the agents lack proper knowledge about any particular property, which they have to sell. These agents may sometimes smooth-talk the customers into buying it without giving them proper information, which often leads to disagreements and contention between the developer and the buyer. If these agents are registered with RERA and have proper qualifications to provide services then it will not only help the home-buyers but also the developers, who will be acquainted with proper knowledge and feedback on the property they would want to sell,” said Naiknavare.
