Mumbai- “Hindu Activists were falsely implicated in Malegaon 2008 blast case by the then Congress- NCP Government to appease Muslim voters in a bid to prove the theory of Saffron Terror”- Sudhakar Chaturvedi (who was recently released on Bail in the Malegaon 2008 blast case) alleged in a press conference today.

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was held in illegal custody for a week and then shown as arrested on 23/10/2008. On the very next day Sudhakar Chaturvedi who was an army informer was picked up by ATS Team at Deolali (Nashik) forcibly. He was brought to Mumbai and after severely torturing him he was taken to Bhopal in a private 7-seater aircraft. In the records of Air Traffic Control, a false name ‘Sangram Singh’ was assigned to him by ATS officials. In Bhopal, they picked up Sameer Kulkarni by contacting Sameer from Sudhakar’s mobile and then the flight returned to Mumbai. Due to high security drama at Bhopal Airport, a news appeared in Bhopal Edition of Hindustan Times on 26th October 2008 about “Arrest of Sangram Singh- Malegaon Blast Accused” when no such person as Sangram Singh even exists.

After snatching the key of his house at Deolali, ATS Officer Shekhar Bagade planted RDX in his house. Army Major Praveen Khanzode and Subhedar Pawar had observed the suspicious activities of Shekhar Bagade and sent a report to army headquarters. After holding Sudhakar Chaturvedi in illegal custody and inflicting severe tortures on him, bogus records were created and a pistol/revolver was planted whereby Matunga police registered a false FIR for arresting him with a firearm at Matunga Station. Brain Mapping test was conducted on him for investigation about his role in Malegaon Blast. Thereafter ATS took his ‘Official Custody’.

The information subsequently obtained under RTI proves that-
Records of Air Traffic Control reveal the names of Sangram Singh and 6 ATS Officials as passengers of a 7-seater private Aircraft.
Report of Brain Mapping which was conducted prior to official arrest.

NIA in its Supplementary Chargesheet indicted ATS for planting RDX. However NIA did not probe following vital aspects-
Who funded a private 7-seater private Aircraft which was part of an illegal investigation?
In the inquiry held by the Magistrate at Mazagaon, ACP Deshpande of ATS confessed of having used a private Aircraft and of having detained Sameer Kulkarni in illegal custody. Why NIA did not even record the statement of ACP Deshpande?
Why the NIA did not investigate the source of illegal pistol/revolver planted by Maharashtra Police? It is obvious that the Policemen acting at behest of Politicians do indeed hold stocks of illegal firearms(pistols, revolvers etc.) It is necessary to interrogate Policemen to find out their nexus with organised gangs involved in murders in Maharashtra, for whom none other than the Maharashtra Police are probably the source of firearms.
Why the source of RDX planted by Maharashtra Police was not further investigated?
In Malegaon 2006 case there was an allegation by Muslim accused persons about planting RDX. Shekhar Bagade, Rajan Ghule, Arun Khanvilkar and the then Home Minister R R Patil were common factors in investigation of both blasts wherein RDX was planted by Police Officers. Hence NIA should have investigated as to who was the mastermind of this conspiracy.
Why the report of Army Officers about RDX incident was suppressed for 8 long years? The then ruling parties at Centre and State must answer.
When all the aforesaid evidences were placed before the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay in Writ Petition No. 968 of 2013 Arvind Negi, a senior Officer from NIA filed Affidavit in Hon’ble High Court of Bombay that NIA would not investigate into the actions of Maharshtra Police. Why this unjust stand is being adhered to by NIA even today?

When Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was tortured and was crying and shouting in the room next to the room in which Chaturvedi was detained , Arun Khanvilkar (ATS P.I.) later convicted for bribe and extortion used to boast that he was acting on instructions of higher ups who would not spare Sadhvi and other accused persons. During torture of Sudhakar Chaturvedi and other accused persons it was a mystery as to why a large no. of inquisitive and interrogative questions were asked relating to personal data of a number of Army Officers and about internal functioning of Indian Army. If the boasts of Khanvilkar are true it is necessary to find out as to why Khanvilkar was interested in this sensitive data and on whose behalf he was acting.
