ACP rank officer of Pune City Police found COVID positive, staffs quarantined

Pune, June 9, 2020: An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) rank officer of the Pune City Police has contracted COVID19. His report came positive yesterday night. He has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. Now some other police personnel in his close contacts have been quarantined and their swab samples are being tested.

The ACP has an office in the Police Commissioner’s office premises in Camp. His staff and all those in contact have been quarantined. So everyone is going to be examined (medical). The officials are puzzled as to how the ACP got infected. He had interrogated some of the arrested criminals. He being the supervisory officer so other police inspectors and police personnel used to come to him for work. The information is being gathered about all those who met him in the last few days.

Till now 52 police officers and personnel of Pune city police have been detected Coronavirus positive and two of them have died. 27 have been cured and discharged from the hospital till now. In Pune, 181 new COVID patients were found yesterday while 166 were discharged from hospitals. The total number of Corona patients in the city has reached 8,062. So far, 391 people have died due to corona while 5,185 have been cured.
