Mumbai, 6th July 2023: Actress Adah Sharma has recently been making headlines for her involvement in the film “The Kerala Story,” which has been surrounded by controversy. Critics claim that the film spreads incomplete truths, misinformation, and fosters communal hatred towards Muslims. However, Adah is now in the news for a different reason. She has been chosen by the Maharashtra Government to serve as the brand ambassador for the Rajmata Jijau Yuvati Swasamrakshan initiative. This initiative aims to provide free self-defence training to women, and Adah enthusiastically shared the news and posted a video of the program’s inaugural ceremony on Instagram. During the event, Adah received overwhelming support from young girls who eagerly took pictures with her. She expressed her honour in the caption, emphasizing the importance of the initiative and sharing videos of the training sessions. The video has already gained over 600,000 views.

While fans appreciated Adah’s involvement in the initiative, some social media users criticized her for participating in films that promote religious bigotry.

The Rajmata Jijau Yuvati Swasamrakshan program, supervised by the Women and Child Development Department, aims to provide self-defence training to 350,000 female students between the ages of 15 and 25 in Maharashtra. This program began on July 3 and will conclude on July 15, involving schools, colleges, and universities throughout the state. Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, in a recent interview, highlighted the necessity of boosting the confidence of girls and women who often fall victim to physical attacks. The state government considers citizen security a top priority and aims to enhance it further through initiatives like this.

Alongside her involvement in social initiatives, Adah continues to entertain her audience with her acting prowess. She is currently working on the film “Tibba,” directed by Gaurav Khati. Although the film is in the post-production stage, the release date has not yet been announced.
