Ajit Pawar Confirms MLA Sunil Tingare Interrogated for 3-4 Hours Over Pune Porsche Case

Pune, 22nd July 2024: The Kalyani Nagar Porsche incident in Pune has brought controversy to Wadgaon Sheri MLA Sunil Tingare, primarily due to his presence at the Yerawada Police Station after the incident and allegations that he ‘pressurized’ the police. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has revealed that MLA Tingare was interrogated for four hours regarding the case.
Ajit Pawar stated, “Efforts were made to defame some of our leaders. Due to this defamation, Sunil underwent three to four hours of interrogation. During that time, Sunil provided a clear explanation. He was not involved in this matter, but some people attempted to include his name unjustly. When an incident occurs in an MLA’s constituency, the MLA must be present to support the people. Is it possible for the MLA to understand what happened without going to the police station?”
Pawar continued, “Everyone should act responsibly and avoid any actions that could bring dishonor to the party. Certain incidents have tarnished Pune’s reputation. We did not hesitate to take strict action in those cases. The individuals involved were investigated and dealt with accordingly. However, such incidents can also tarnish the names of well-regarded individuals.”
In addition to being the Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar is also the Guardian Minister of Pune District. Sunil Tingare, an MLA from Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), faced scrutiny due to his presence at the police station during the night of the incident. Despite Tingare’s explanation, public discontent persists. The accused in the Kalyani Nagar Porsche case is a minor who has been released on bail.
