Pune: Minors Beat Young Man to Death in Pimpri Chinchwad Over Minor Dispute

Bhosari, 22nd July 2024: A tragic incident occurred in Pimpri Chinchwad where a group of minors fatally assaulted a young man over a minor dispute. The police have detained all six minors involved and presented them before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB). The incident took place in Bhosari on Saturday, 20th July, at around 8:45 PM.
The deceased has been identified as Kiran Balu Lendhkar. His brother, Harshal Balu Lendhkar, 32, a resident of Moshi, filed a complaint at Bhosari Police Station. The minors have been detained and are under the JJB’s custody. A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code: Section 103 (punishment for murder), Section 189 (unlawful assembly), Section 191 (rioting), and Section 190 (guilt of members of unlawful assembly for offenses committed in prosecution of common object).
According to Police Inspector Nitin Phatangare of Bhosari Police Station, Kiran was walking home after closing his shop when he accidentally pushed one of the minors. A verbal altercation followed. The minor, enraged by the incident, gathered his friends and confronted Kiran at a bus stand in Shanti Nagar. The group then proceeded to physically assault Kiran with punches, kicks, and a wooden stick, resulting in his death. Police Sub-Inspector Mohare of Bhosari Police Station is continuing the investigation.
