Alumni Gathering at Savitribai Phule Pune University Economics Department
Pune, 16th May 2025: The Savitribai Phule Pune University Economics Department recently organized an alumni gathering on Saturday.
The aim of the alumni gathering was to bring all the alumni together under one roof to reminisce old memories and strengthen the bonds formed over the years. The alumni gathering began with enthusiasm.
Head of the Economics Department Prof. Dr. Surbhi Jain warmly welcomed the chief guest and alumni present and appreciated the presence of all.
Former Head of the Economics Department and Director of the Lifelong Learning and Extension Department Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav addressed the gathering as a resource person and thanked the department.
He spoke about his journey from being a humble student in the Economics Department to becoming the Head and Director of the same department. He appealed to everyone to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty and to always remember to stay connected to their roots to reach greater heights.
Prof. Sangeeta Salve, Dr. Ajay Darekar, Dr. Suresh Waghmare and senior alumni graced the event. They expressed their happiness to be a part of the dynamic department of Economics. 100 alumni including Dr. Amita Yadavadkar and Dr. Minal Annachhatre were present for this wonderful event.
Dr. Mansi Gore coordinated the event well.
The day ended with a meaningful discussion.These memories will be cherished for a lifetime.
