New Delhi, 13th March 2025: The Indian Army has officially commenced its Agniveer recruitment process for 2025, offering a golden opportunity for young aspirants to serve the nation. Applications are now being accepted online through the official website, with the registration window open from 12th March to 10th April 2025. This recruitment drive aims to induct fresh talent into various roles within the army under the Agnipath scheme.

The Agniveer recruitment encompasses multiple positions, including General Duty, Technical, Assistant, Store Keeper, and Tradesman roles for both men and women. Candidates aged between 17½ and 21 years, with educational qualifications ranging from 8th to 12th standard, are eligible to apply. The selection process will involve a written examination, physical fitness tests, document verification, and a medical examination.

Lieutenant General Anil Puri, Additional Secretary in the Department of Military Affairs, emphasized the significance of this recruitment drive. “The Agniveer program is designed to infuse young energy into our armed forces while providing a unique opportunity for India’s youth to serve their country,” he stated.

The application process has been streamlined to ensure ease of access for candidates across the country. Interested individuals can submit their applications through the official Indian Army website, where they will need to fill in personal details, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee of INR 250.

Highlighting the importance of physical fitness in the selection process, Colonel Rajesh Kumar, a recruitment officer, said, “Candidates must meet specific physical standards, including height requirements and the ability to complete a 1.6 km run within the stipulated time. These standards ensure we select the most capable individuals to join our ranks.”

The recruitment drive also includes specialized roles such as Nursing Assistants and Sepoy Pharma, which have specific educational requirements. For instance, Sepoy Pharma candidates must have completed 12th standard and hold a D.Pharma degree with a minimum of 55% marks, along with registration with the State Pharmacy Council.

In a bid to make the process more inclusive, the army has introduced provisions for women to apply for certain roles, including the Agniveer General Duty (Women Military Police) position. This move aligns with the armed forces’ ongoing efforts to increase gender diversity within its ranks.

The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for shortlisted candidates is tentatively scheduled for June 2025. Successful candidates will undergo rigorous training before being inducted into various units of the Indian Army.

As the application window opens, thousands of young Indians are expected to seize this opportunity to serve in the armed forces. The Agniveer scheme not only offers a chance for patriotic service but also provides valuable skills and experience that can benefit candidates in their future careers, whether they continue in the military or transition to civilian life.
