Northeast Frontier Railway Recruitment 2026: 6,777 Apprentice Vacancies, Apply Online From July 20
New Delhi, 16th July 2026 : The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released an official notification inviting applications for 6,777 Apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act across various divisions and workshops. The online application process will commence on July 20 and remain open until 5:30 pm on August 19, 2026.
Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official Northeast Frontier Railway website.
According to the notification, applicants must have passed Class 10 along with an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from a recognised institution. Candidates who have completed Class 10 and Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are also eligible for specific trades as mentioned in the notification.
Candidates must be between 15 and 24 years of age, with age relaxation applicable for SC, ST, OBC and other reserved categories as per Government of India norms.
The recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies across several NFR divisions and workshops, including Katihar and Tindharia Workshop (1,103 posts), Alipurduar (651), Rangiya (750), Lumding (1,274), Tinsukia (860), New Bongaigaon Workshop and Engineering Workshop (881), Dibrugarh Workshop (763), and the Headquarters at Maligaon (495), taking the total number of vacancies to 6,777.
Applications will be accepted only through the online mode, and candidates are advised to complete the registration process before the deadline. No offline applications will be entertained.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and women are exempted from paying the application fee. All other applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of ₹100 through the prescribed online payment mode.
The railway has advised aspiring candidates to read the official notification carefully to verify eligibility criteria, trade-wise vacancies, required documents and other recruitment guidelines before submitting their applications.
