It was raining that day, and no proper protection and food were catered to them. Some kind of fish were also kept in a water tank was also placed beside them, and no food and oxygen supply was supplied. On enquiring, I came to know that these animals were kept under the control of chairman and secretary of the society, and they were kept for the entertainment of the children in society.”

Acknowledging this, Shah filed a complaint against the then chairmen Mahendra Jain and secretary Rahul Vilas Mehta. The case was registered under the prevention of cruelty to Animal act 1960 and the animal protection act 1972. The case was then presented to the court for the hearing.
