Association of language Professionals to organize session with expert literary translators

​​Pune, 17th April 2018: Association of language Professionals (ALP) in association with SIFIL of Symbiosis institute will organize an interview session with award winning translators Vikrant Pande from Baroda and Leena Sohoni from Pune on 29th April at 9.30 am to 12 pm at at SIFIL Hall, Symbiosis Institute, Plot no.419, Model Colony, Gokhale Cross Road. This session is the second in the ‘Interview Series’ initiative started by ALP and SIFIL in order to bring experts and people interested in making translation a career on one platform. This session is free for all with prior registration . Those  present for the session will get a chance to ask questions to the both literary translators.

ALP organizes competitions, interview sessions, workshops, seminars, train the trainer programs for linguists and is a wonderful platform for linguists in Indian and Foreign languages.

SIFIL has foreign language courses and organizes symposiums, cultural  programs education programs and also has a foreign language movie club.

Vikrant Pande is a well-known translator and is known for his passion of getting Marathi bestsellers to English on National Stage . He has translated Ranjit Desai’s Shivaji the Great , Shriman Yogi , Raja Ravi Varma , NS Inamdar’s Shahenshah , The Life of Auranzeb and Rau , The Love Story of Bajorao mastani and Milind Bokil’s Shala .

Leena Sohoni is an award winning translator of international bestselling authors like Jeffrey Archer , Henry Denker into Marathi. She also has to her credit translations of White Tiger by Arvind Adiga , Tasleema nasrin’s Lajja , biography of Mahavir Singh Phogat’s Akhada.
