Pune Water Cut Alert: Supply To Remain Suspended In Several Areas On June 4 Due To PMC Pipeline Work
Pune, 3 June, 2026: Residents in several parts of Pune will face a day-long water supply disruption on Thursday, June 4, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertakes major pipeline connection work at the Gokhalenagar MAPCO water tank.
PMC’s Water Supply Department stated that areas receiving water from the Gokhalenagar MAPCO and Chatushrungi tanks will experience complete suspension of water supply during the day. In addition, low-pressure and delayed water supply is expected on Friday morning, June 5, in some localities.
According to civic officials, the work is being carried out to strengthen the city’s water distribution network and improve future water management.
“The pipeline connection work is necessary for upgrading Pune’s water supply infrastructure. The project will help ensure smoother and more efficient water distribution in the coming years,” said the Chief Engineer of PMC’s Water Supply Department.
Areas likely to face disruption under the Gokhalenagar tank include Gokhalenagar, Aundh, Bopodi, Pune University area, Law College Road, Bhamburda, BMCC Road, Bhosalenagar, Senapati Bapat Road, Bhandarkar Road, Prabhat Road, Paud Road, Sheela Vihar Colony, Vedanta Nagari, Kulashree Colony, Sahwas Society, Kshipra Society, Vitthal Mandir area, Gosavi Vasti, Karishma Society vicinity, Big Bazaar area, Mayur Colony, Karve Road, Nal Stop, Sahakar Nagar, Bharatnagar, Bharatkunj, Swapnamandir, Mangeshkar Hospital surroundings, Vakil Nagar and nearby localities.
Meanwhile, localities connected to the Chatushrungi tank that will be affected include Aundh, Bopodi, Bhoite Vasti, Pune University campus, Chikhalwadi, Khadki, Anand Park, Sanewadi, Ambedkar Colony, Sankalp Park, Sakal Nagar, Chavan Nagar, Abhimanshree Society, National Society, Sindh Society and Aundhgaon.
PMC has urged residents in affected areas to make necessary arrangements by storing adequate water in advance. Civic officials also appealed for public cooperation during the maintenance and connection work.
The administration stated that normal water supply will be restored once the pipeline work is completed.
