Automatic Signalling Work On Pune-Lonavala Route To Complete In Next Three Months: Railways

Pune 19th August 2023: The Central Railway officials have said that the ongoing work of the automatic signalling system on the 60 Km Pune-Lonavala route will be completed in the next three months. The officials have already completed work on the 44.17 Km distance between Lonavala and Chinchwad while 10.18 Km distance will be covered during a block on August 20.

It may be noted that the railways have announced a block on Sunday, August 20 in the Pune division to carry out the automatic signalling work between Khadki and Chinchwad. The system will be installed on this stretch by covering a total of 10.18 Km distance. Several trains have been cancelled and delayed due to this work. The railway officials have also said that the work on installation of system on the remaining 6.24 Km between Khadki and Pune on the Pune-Lonavala route will be completed in the next three months and once this is completed the completed stretch of Pune-Lonavala covering 60 Km distance will have automatic signalling system.

The system, according to railway officials, will reduce the train running time and it will also help to increase train speed in this section. said officials.
