Pune: PMC’s 24*7 Water Supply Project To Increase Water Storage Capacity By 12 Crore Litres

Pune 19th August 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s 24*7 Water Supply Project is likely to be completed in December this year and it will increase the water storage capacity in the municipal areas by 12 Crore litres. Currently the water storage capacity in PMC is 350 Million Litres which is further likely to reach 470 Million Litres after the completion of the project.

 

The Pune Municipal Corporation is building 82 overhead tanks under this project and each tank will store 6 Million Litres of water. According to officials, over 80% of work on this is already completed and the remaining is also likely to be completed soon. The work was delayed at some places due to land acquisition issues and ongoing metro work. However, all these problems have now been solved.

The project is planned with an aim to provide equal water supply to citizens in the Pune Municipal Corporation limits and around Rs 4,500 Crore is being spent on it..
