Avail Pune Cantonment Board Services On E-Chhawani Portal, No Need To Visit PCB Office: CEO
Pune Camp, 14th January 2022: Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) is one of the five Cantonment Boards selected for the implementation of “e-Chhawani Unified Portal” for online management of the Cantonment Board.
The e-portal has been developed by Bharat Electronics Limited in consultation with Director General Defence Estates (DGDE) New Delhi. The services provided by the unified portal are Public Grievance and Redressal, Property Tax, Water Tanker Booking, Trade License, Challan System, Birth & Death Certificate, Water & Sewerage, Lease Renewal and Community Hall Booking. The portal is accessible at http://pune.cantt.gov.in or echhawani.gov.in/citizen
PCB CEO Amit Kumar said, “The objective of the e-Chhawani system is to provide online services to the citizens, improve the efficiency of the current system from paper-based towards paperless and thus enhance the revenue through transparency, unification of multiple systems on a single platform etc. In this time of the covid-19 pandemic where moving out of our homes comes at a risk of exposing ourselves to the virus, e-Chhawani online services has proved to be a boon to the public as well as the Pune Cantonment Office, since the public does not have to come to the office for availing any of the services listed above as they are all available at the click of a button from the safety of their homes neither will they have to face long waiting ques for any kind of payments, enquiry of application etc.”
The progress of e-Chhawani system is personally reviewed by the Defence Minister & Defence Secretary from time to time.
