BJP’s Warning To Pune Municipal Administration Over Non-Cleaning Of Nullahs

Pune, 12th July 2022: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation led by its Pune city president Jagdish Mulik today (July 12) called on Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar and gave a memorandum. Although the monsoon started, incomplete sanitation, poor quality rainwater works, radar still in ‘as it is’ condition and lack of disaster management were discussed in the meeting.
They also reminded the commissioner of the fact of flood-prone areas and demanded immediate completion of the works.
Mulik demanded that disaster management planning should be done at the ward level keeping in view the risk of increasing rainfall and possible flooding.
Mulik said, “Citizens should not have to face any difficulties during the rainy season and all the agencies should coordinate for this. Coordination between police administration, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) and Smart City is important in various departments of the corporation.”

Mulik further said, “There is an urgent need to plan for possible rainwater harvesting sites, potholes in roads, drainage ditches, large drains, flood-affected areas, number of shelters, equipment and so on.”
Jagdish Mulik, State Vice President Varsha Tapkir, General Secretary Ganesh Ghosh, Vice President Ganesh Kalamkar, Former Deputy Mayor Saraswati Shendge, Sushil Mengde and others were present on this occasion.
