Bollywood Actress Kangana Ranaut And Filmmaker Karan Johar Lock Horns In Heated Exchange Over PR Strategies
Mumbai, 31st July 2023: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut launched a fresh verbal attack on Karan Johar, accusing him of manipulating the perception of his movies through “paid PR.” The heated exchange happened during the release of Karan’s latest directorial venture, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Taking to her official Instagram account on Sunday, Kangana shared several posts and stories targeting Karan for his past statement about using PR to alter a film’s box office success.
In one of her Instagram posts, Kangana shared a video of Karan and wrote, “Karan Johar ji is claiming that he can achieve anything by throwing money around… He can manipulate any perception. Do they only ensure their films succeed, or do they also resort to negative PR to sabotage others’ hit movies?”
In another post, the actress criticized the practice of misrepresenting mediocre work as exceptional and vice versa, calling it demonic, evil, and malicious. She expressed concern about the state of the Hindi film industry, comparing it to a sinking ship with internal issues that need to be addressed. Kangana hoped for better judgment and urged everyone to do the right thing.
Additionally, Kangana shared Karan’s old video on her Instagram Story, sarcastically commenting on the “gloriousness of paid PR” and mocking his arrogance by comparing it to Ravan’s.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani proved to be a commercial success, crossing the Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic box office within just four days of release. On the other hand, Kangana is preparing for the release of her upcoming film Emergency, which revolves around the Indian Emergency period.
