Mumbai, February 16, 2021: Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Priyanka has received a setback from the Bombay High Court in a case involving the late Bollywood actor. The court has refused to quash the FIR lodged against her. However, the High Court quashed the FIR lodged against Rajput’s sister Mitu.

Riya Chakraborty, accused in the death of the actor Sushant, had lodged an FIR against the sisters of the late actor. Challenging the same FIR, the two sisters approached the Bombay High Court demanding its cancellation.

The order was passed by the division bench consisting of Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik. Advocate Madhav Thorat, who is fighting the case of Sushant’s sisters, stated that Priyanka will challenge the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court. In the High Court, Sushant’s sisters claimed that Riya’s allegations do not constitute a serious crime. Her petition said that the complaint lodged by Chakraborty was a scandalous attempt by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to investigate against her and blame Rajput’s family for the suicide, as she was on the verge of being arrested. . Riya was arrested by the NCB on 8 September.

At the same time, Advocate Satish Manashinde, who appeared in the court on behalf of Riya Chakraborty asked the court to grant permission to investigate the allegations. He told the court that the investigation is very important because the actor ended his life six days later. This form could be the reason behind Sushant’s death.

On September 7 last year, Riya Chakraborty lodged an FIR at the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai. Sushant’s sister Priyanka Singh, Mitu Singh, and Dr. Tarun Kumar were accused in this FIR. According to the FIR, Sushant’s sister Priyanka Singh acquired a fake prescription for Sushant after attending a visit to Dr. Tarun Kumar of Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Government Hospital. The doctor prescribes the medicine without visiting and talking to the mentally ill Sushant. This is against the Telemedicine Act 2020 according to Riya.

Riya had also alleged that the medicine was prescribed on 8 June and Sushant committed suicide on 14 June, so sisters Priyanka Singh, Mitu Singh, and Dr. Tarun Kumar are also accused of forcing him to commit suicide.
