Pune, February 16, 2021: Many candidates who had appeared for the C-DAC’s CCAT exam through online mode have vehemently opposed the institution’s decision to now conduct the exam in offline mode. The result of the online mode exam has been already declared.

In an email to the candidates, C-DAC stated, “To avoid travel and social distancing problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic, C-DAC had decided to conduct the CCAT for March 2021 batch in online mode with proctoring. In view of the widespread dissatisfaction of candidates with the online proctor-based examination, C-DAC has decided to nullify the previously conducted CCATs and results for the March 2021 batch, and re-conduct computer-based physical mode CCAT as per earlier norms.

No extra application fees will be charged from the candidates. Dates of the new CCAT, updated admission calendar and choice for CCAT city preferences will be announced soon. Anyone wishing to withdraw their candidature will be given the complete refund of CCAT application fee.”

Maharashtra Students Welfare Association (MSWA) has threatened to move the Bombay High Court if C-DAC went ahead with its decision to conduct the re-examination.

“Thousands of students of C-DAC CCAT already given the exams which were scheduled in January 2021 in Online Mode and also the result is declared for the same. But now C-DAC is saying to reappear again for the exams through OFFLINE ModeStudents already invested a lot of time preparing for the exams and some students already left their jobs after the allocation of seats. We request the authorities to proceed with the present ranks and seat allocation process. C-DAC will have to consider all these issues otherwise we will challenge the decision in the High Court”, said MSWA president Vaibhav Edke.

Ruqaiya Kas tweeted to C-DAC, “It would be completely unfair to the hard work and dedication of students who qualified the exam. All the successful candidates had wasted all their time and dedication towards this exam and it must not go in vain. Request you to cancel the re-examination.”

Rohit Sharma said, “I am too much depressed as we already faced CCAT exam two times. We gave too much time and efforts to preparation. I am not able to attend re-exam again and again. Re-exam is panic for all and it is my request to proceed with the present rank and seat allocation process.”

Rohit Gupta added, “It was a proctored exam with security. I spend 3 months on preparation and got good rank. And now I have to wait 2-3 months month more. We are unemployed engineers and belong to the middle-class family and this is a very hectic condition for us.”
