Bengaluru, 24th July 2023: India’s leading edtech company, Byju’s, has taken significant cost-cutting measures to preserve liquidity amidst a delay in funding. As part of this strategy, the company has recently vacated its largest office space in Bengaluru and relinquished a portion of another office space in the city, according to reliable sources.

Byju’s, which currently operates three office spaces in Bengaluru, including the sprawling 5.58 lakh square feet property in Kalyani Tech Park, made the decision to optimize its resources. As of July 23, the company has requested its employees to either work from its other premises or continue their duties from their homes. This move affects at least six employees who confirmed the development to Moneycontrol.

Additionally, Byju’s has downsized its presence in Prestige Tech Park by giving up two out of the nine floors it previously occupied.

When approached for a statement, a spokesperson for Byju’s clarified that their real estate decisions, including expansion and reduction of office space, are standard practice based on evolving working policies and business priorities. These measures are taken regularly to enhance operational efficiencies and align with the company’s growth strategy.

Byju’s currently leases over 3 million square feet of office spaces across the country to meet its operational requirements. Despite the recent changes in its office spaces, the company continues to remain a dominant player in the Indian edtech market and is committed to delivering quality education to millions of learners nationwide.
