Cardamom Worth Rs 18 Lakh Stolen From Truck On Pune-Bengaluru Highway

Pune, January 25, 2021: Unidentified thieves decamped with Cardamom worth Rs 18 lakh from a truck parked near a tea stall after crossing the Khambatki tunnel at Pargaon (Tal. Khandala in Satara district) on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway. The truck driver had gone for tea. A case has been registered against unidentified thieves at the Khandala police station.

According to police, the truck driver Nagesh Putte Gawda (45), a resident of Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru, was passing through Pargaon on the intervening night of 7th and 8th September 2020. He was going to Bhiwandi from Bengaluru with boxes of cardamom.

A complaint has been lodged with Khandala Police Station that unidentified thieves broke the lock of the back door of the truck between decamped with 36 boxes of cardamom weighing 50 kg worth Rs 18 lakh.
