Central Railway Extends Special Train Services Via Pune Till July; 1,448 Trips Including Holi and Summer Specials

Pune/Mumbai,14th February 2026: Central Railway has extended the periodicity of several special trains passing through and originating from the Pune region, converting them into Holi Specials, Special Trains and Summer Specials to manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic up to 15 July 2026. A total of 1,448 trips will be operated under the extended plan, including 328 Holi Special trips, 148 Special trips and 972 Summer Special trips.

Key weekly services connected to the Pune and Solapur belt include Train No. 01435 Solapur–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Weekly Special, which will now run as Holi Specials from 3 March to 31 March 2026, as Special Trains from 7 April to 14 April 2026, and as Summer Specials from 21 April to 14 July 2026, completing 20 trips. The return service, Train No. 01436 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Solapur Weekly Special, will operate as Holi Specials from 4 March to 1 April 2026, as Special Trains from 8 April to 15 April 2026 and as Summer Specials from 22 April to 15 July 2026, also with 20 trips.

Train No. 01477 Solapur–Anakapalle Weekly Special will run as Holi Specials from 6 March to 27 March 2026, as Special Trains from 3 April to 10 April 2026 and as Summer Specials from 17 April to 10 July 2026 (19 trips), while Train No. 01478 Anakapalle–Solapur Weekly Special will run as Holi Specials from 7 March to 28 March 2026, as Special Trains from 4 April to 11 April 2026 and as Summer Specials from 18 April to 11 July 2026 (19 trips).

Daily special services impacting commuters in and around Pune have also been extended up to 15 July 2026. These include Train Nos. 01023 Pune–Kolhapur and 01024 Kolhapur–Pune Daily Specials, each scheduled for 137 trips. Additionally, Train Nos. 01487 Hadapsar–Harangul and 01488 Harangul–Hadapsar Daily Specials will continue for 137 trips each, directly serving the Pune suburban catchment.

Other extended daily services in the wider operational zone include Solapur–Daund (01461/01462), Solapur–Kalaburagi (01465/01466) and Badnera–Nashik (01211/01212) Daily Specials, each planned for 137 trips in both directions during the extended period. These trains will run as Holi Specials from 1 March to 31 March 2026, as Special Trains from 1 April to 14 April 2026 and as Summer Specials from 15 April to 15 July 2026.

Railways stated that the timings, routes, composition and halts of all these trains will remain unchanged. Bookings for these special trains, except Train No. 01478, will open on 16 February 2026 at computerised reservation centres and on the IRCTC website within the Advanced Reservation Period, while unreserved tickets will be available through the UTS system. Passengers can also use the RailOne app, and detailed halt timings will be available on the railway enquiry portal and NTES platform.
