Mumbai, 11th March 2025: The historical action drama Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar and starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, has achieved a remarkable milestone by crossing the ₹700 crore mark globally on its 25th day of release.

The film earned ₹6.25 crore on its fourth Monday, taking its domestic total to ₹526.05 crore. Of this, the Hindi version contributed ₹5 crore, while the Telugu version added ₹1.25 crore. This makes Chhaava the first Bollywood film of 2025 to surpass ₹500 crore in India and one of the top-grossing films of all time.

Based on the book of the same name, Chhaava narrates a compelling historical tale that has resonated strongly with audiences. The movie opened to an impressive ₹31 crore on its first day and earned ₹219.25 crore in its debut week.

Although collections dipped slightly in subsequent weeks—₹180.25 crore in week two and ₹84.5 crore in week three—it has maintained steady momentum in its fourth week, earning ₹43 crore over four days.

The film’s weekend performance also stood out, with collections of ₹16.75 crore on Saturday and ₹10.75 crore on Sunday despite a 30% drop in footfall. Trade analysts predict that Chhaava could soon surpass the lifetime earnings of Stree 2, which was 2024’s highest-grossing Hindi film.

Vicky Kaushal expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response, saying, “This journey has been incredible, and I am thankful to everyone who has supported us.” The actor’s portrayal of a historical hero has been praised as one of his career-best performances.

The success of Chhaava reflects a growing audience interest in culturally rich narratives combined with action-packed storytelling. The film’s production house, Maddock Films, has been lauded for delivering a visually stunning and emotionally engaging cinematic experience.

As Chhaava continues its strong run at the box office, it sets a high benchmark for Bollywood releases in 2025. With its global appeal and record-breaking achievements, the film underscores the potential of Indian cinema to captivate audiences worldwide.
