Kalewadi, 3rd November 2024: Rahul Kalate, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate from Chinchwad, has assured IT professionals that the MVA is committed to resolving the pressing challenges faced by the city’s IT sector.

Speaking at a Diwali Faral Sneh Mela organized by the All India National Congress Secretary Prithviraj Sathe Mitra Pariva at Indu Lawns in Kalewadi, Kalate emphasized the crucial role that the leadership of Sharad Pawar played in establishing Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad as a world-class IT hub.

However, he pointed out that in recent years, the government has failed to address the concerns of the IT community due to incompetence and apathy. “Lakhs of youth, not just from Pune but across the country, found employment because of the IT park initiative spearheaded by Sharad Pawar Saheb. This transformed areas like Pimple Saudagar, Wakad, and Thergaon into IT hubs, generating significant revenue for the state. Yet, despite their contributions, IT professionals have been plagued by unresolved issues, particularly traffic congestion and a lack of infrastructure,” Kalate said.

Kalate further assured that, under the leadership of the MVA and Sharad Pawar, these challenges would be addressed. He criticized those in power for their failure to prevent IT companies from relocating outside Hinjawadi and pledged to take decisive action to prevent further setbacks in the industry.

Dattatreya Deshmukh, president of the Housing Societies Federation, voiced the frustrations of local residents, many of whom are employed in the IT sector. “Despite being promised solutions in past elections, we continue to face unresolved issues while paying crores in taxes,” said Deshmukh.

Senior Congress leaders and prominent figures, including Ashok More, Abhimanyu Dahitule, Babu Nair, and Saji Varki, were also present at the event, along with IT professionals, activists, and residents of the Chinchwad constituency.
