Citizens of Pune Share Their Requests With PM Narendra Modi Ahead of His Visit

Pune, 29th July 2023: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pune approaches, citizens of the city have taken to social media to express their hopes and desires for the region’s development.

Industrialist Sudhir Mehta, in a tweet, asked people what one request they would make to the Prime Minister as citizens of Pune, and the responses have been pouring in.

Aditya Kondawar wished for a war-footing development of Pune’s infrastructure and expressed his desire to meet the Prime Minister someday. Shravan Suratwala urged PM Modi to address the need for the completion and improvement of existing infrastructure and civic projects before starting new ones, aiming to benefit Punekars and bolster the local BJP’s image in preparation for 2024.

Omkar Jadhav highlighted Pune’s significant contribution as one of the highest GST taxpayers and questioned the pace of development in the city, suggesting the need for a more expeditious approach.

Amit Kanodia’s request included an extensive list, covering the establishment of an International Airport, high-speed rail connectivity to Navi Mumbai Airport, metro connectivity to IT parks and auto clusters to alleviate traffic congestion, town planning solutions incorporating parking facilities, and the establishment of prestigious institutions like IIT, IIM, and AIIMS in Pune. He also advocated for the setting up of Tesla’s Giga factory in the city.

Another citizen, Amit, emphasized the importance of having responsible representatives and emphasized the need for better infrastructure, including improved roads and footpaths, a new airport, extended runway at the existing airport, and a holistic development plan for the city.

Abhishek expressed concerns over the Hinjewadi traffic issue, requesting the Prime Minister’s attention to find a viable solution.

Mercurial, while recognizing the limitation of one request, combined multiple aspects related to transportation, emphasizing the need for a holistic upgrade to public transport, pothole-free roads, safe driving practices, and an extensive metro network.

Ritesh invited the Prime Minister to personally experience Pune’s world-class infrastructure by driving or traveling from Hadapsar to Baner without any VIP services.

LiveableHinjawadi demanded proper infrastructure and accountability from designated authorities for maintaining it, highlighting the potential of the city being unrealized due to issues like poor roads to IT parks, public transport, and garbage management.

Dipak invited PM Modi to visit Mundhwa Signal and Keshavnagar area to witness the accomplishments of the Pune Municipal Corporation.
Siddharth Date drew attention to the need for improved infrastructure and roads, expressing concerns about the current condition of roads and the quality of materials used.

While some citizens expressed their desire for better roads and infrastructure, others underscored the urgent need for comprehensive transportation upgrades and efficient public services.
