City Corporation to rehabilitate Malin as a ‘Smart’ Village
Pune, October 18: City Corporation, a city based developer renowned for the development of one of the largest and smart integrated township in the country – Amanora Park Town, is now adopting ‘Malin’ village to rehabilitate it as a ‘Smart’ village. The formal announcement to this effect was made today by Pune’s Collector, Saurabh Rao during a Press Conference organized at the Collector’s office. Aniruddha Deshpande, Managing Director of City Corporation, Rajendra Muthe, Resident Deputy Collector were also present on this occasion.
For rehabilitation of Malin village after the landslide in the year 2014, helping hands were given by State Government and many other organizations including various NGO’s. However additional funds amounting Rs.1.6 crores are required to rehabilitate those who were affected by the landslide. City’s collector Saurabh Rao was of an opinion that private organizations should take initiative and help the villagers as a part of their CSR program. Responding to this Aniruddha Deshpande has come forward to help the villagers. He has agreed to contribute of Rs.80 lakhs in 4 monthly installations towards this project. City Corporation also plans to help the Collector’s Office to raise the reaming funds for Malin with the help and guidance of the District Administration.
In addition to this, City Corporation will also work for the smart rehabilitation of Malin Village. This includes the basic amenities for the villagers, training center for their self employment, organizing special training and development courses by Mitcon especially for female residents to make them self-supportive, availability of all the civic information on just a click and many more. The goods produced by Malin villagers under this initiative will be available at Amanora Mall to purchase. With all such initiatives to give a face lift to the village, Malin would be the first Smart Village of India.
As a responsible corporate, City Corporation will work towards the redevelopment of Malin Village as a Model Smart Village of the country by keeping the welfare of villagers in the focus.
