Pune, January 21, 2021: The school education department has decided to postpone the revised subject plan and assessment plan for Std XII for this year in view of the limitations in teaching and learning during the Corona period.

The department released a government resolution ‘concession for certain subjects in revised subject plan and evaluation plan’ stating that students are given the opportunity to take the exam of their chosen subject.

The school education department had proposed a revised subject plan and evaluation plan for Std XII to be implemented from the academic year 2020-21. As per the revised plan, junior colleges were asked to stop teaching the subjects like Avesta- Pahlavi, General Knowledge, Hindi Applied, Marathi Literature, English Literature. Accordingly, the subject selection options in the branches were changed. Ignoring these changes, some colleges continued to teach related subjects.

As a result, students faced some difficulties in filling up the application form for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) board examination 2021. To prevent the educational loss of students, the school education department has decided to postpone the new subject and assessment scheme for this year.

Std XII students have been given the opportunity to take exams in the subjects they have chosen. This concession is only applicable and has been given for this year, it will not be available from next year, stated the GR. Junior colleges are required to implement revised subject and assessment plans. It has further clarified that teaching of these subjects should be stopped.
